  1. What did you do this past week? This week, I didn’t do a ton. I worked on my school projects, worked 40 hours, and went to my classes. I played a round of golf, saw some friends, and went to my company’s online holiday party.
  2. What’s in your way? I just need to do well on these last three weeks of class so that I graduate at the end of the semester.
  3. What will you do next week? I have to start working on my history class. My professor blessed us with all assignments being due on the last day of class, so it’s been at the bottom of my priority list this semester. Now, I need to play catch-up.
  4. If you read it, what did you think of The New Methodology? I think that the transition to Agile is awesome! I personally have used it at my internship the past two weeks, and I love it. There are pieces of it, documentation-wise, that are tedious to me. I skip some pieces of it like writing up a design-doc because I believe in a lot of cases the code is self-explanatory enough.
  5. What was your experience of containers, container adapters, and Life? I found that the lessons this week were very beneficial, but I wish we could have touched more on the Life project this week. I’m finished with the Conway and Fredkin portion. I also decided to do this project by myself this week. I have a pretty inconsistent/busy schedule, so I didn’t want to coordinate with anyone.
  6. What made you happy this week? I just found my class ring that I thought I lost, so that was exciting. I’m 99% sure I’m getting a job offer this week from my internship because my manager sent me screenshot of the req. My current lease is short (August-December), so I never found the motivation to fully unpack my boxes. In celebration/anticipation to almost job offer, I unpacked all my things and bought some necessary furniture because I plan on staying here for at least 8 more months if I get the job.
  7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week? Keep up with your classes even if professors are giving extended deadlines. It’s very easy to procrastinate if deadlines are down the line, but you’ll thank yourself later if you don’t end up stressed at the end of the semester.
